Holiday Happenings, Nurse Cole Day, RUDuff Enough Day, and More!

November and December Happenings

Hour of Code On December 6th Ipswich High School students visited some of our Doyon classrooms to work with students on coding. Through the Hour of Code website students chose different programs to practice their coding skills. They enjoyed having the high school students working with them and are looking forward to coding more in library! Students eagerly working on their typing skills in third grade. Students in Grade Four shared their persuasive essays with each other before reflecting on their published pieces. Grade Five students working on a States of Matter presentation.

Global Cardboard Challenge

Many Doyon classrooms participated in the annual Global Cardboard Challenge Day on October 6th. Inspired by the Caine's Arcade short film students made their own arcade games. Our library and classrooms were overrun with cardboard!

Grade 3 Endangered Animal Expo

The Third Grade hosted an Endangered Animal Expo for all Doyon students to come and visit. Students were proud to showcase what they had learned throughout the unit. They then created a report and 3-D model on a specific endangered animal. It was impressive talking with students and hearing them share all of their newly acquired knowledge on endangered animals. Great job Third Grade!
